True Grit Christian Low fat Christianity with no unnecessary fillers

What if I told you there was nothing to gain and no reward in following Christ?

What if I told you that you have to give up everything you own and leave everyone you know behind?

What if I showed you the life of a Christian was hard and painful with little rest? Is this true?

Come to Christ as if it is.

The glory of God is not in the gold or the beauty of a rainbow. His majesty is not in the mountains nor is his power in the storm. His grace is not in the coolness of the gentle breeze.  These things can only give you a glimpse of the strength of God.

1 Kings 19:11-12

The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by."Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.

There is coming a day when all things will pass away. Our children will be placed in the ground and our cities will fall into dust. The blindness of those who do not believe and those who did not listen will be stripped away and the light of Christ will flood our souls with truth. Everything you thought you hid and everything you ever did will be opened to him. Is your motivation to be a Christian to see the miracles? Is your drive to Church fueled by the entertainment or the social interaction? There are going to be millions upon millions who have let themselves be fooled into thinking they was doing right and when they stand in judgment they will not see joy.

Matthew 7:21-23

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

You have to come to Christ humbled and surrendered seeking only the Love of God. When you find that love this all will make perfect sense to you. Your motivation will change and your only desire will be to follow Him. Prayer will change from asking for money to asking for guidance and opportunity. You will do everything you can to get closer to Him and His presence will be the reward. Jesus Christ says it here very clearly:

Matthew 8:18-22

When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake. Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go."

Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."

Another disciple said to him, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father."

But Jesus told him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."

You need to understand that being a Christian isn't about peace but it's about fighting to be everything God wants you to be.

Don't stay in that comfort zone but step out and face the waves because Jesus didn't walk across a still pond but a raging sea!

God will guard and protect you. He alone will make your way. He will give you healing and cure sickness when you are least expecting.

Come seeking nothing but expecting everything!
